Is Summer Swimming Right for You?
April 2nd
I've been a swim parent for seven years, but I remember the first time I looked at the Barracudas page and thought, "When will I get to go on vacation?." There are a lot of great things you can do this summer and you don't have to give them all up for Barracudas. Here are a few things I hope will convince you to join our swim team!
- Our coaches will teach competitive swim strokes. Your child needs to know basic swimming skills, but they will be taught how to be a competitive swimmer.
- You don't have to be at every swim meet. Swimmers/parents will sign up for each regular meet during the season, so you can still plan that summer vacation!
- Swimming involves the family. Our meets are run by the parents and families of our swimmers. You'll get to know other swim families and be an active part of your child's experience.
- Every child can grow and learn in this sport. Kids will often ask, "Did I cut time?" after a race. Swimmers learn to set short-term goals and the value of making small improvements every day.
- Champions start in the summer! Many Barracudas have gone on to become middle and high school swim champions, college athletes, and swim coaches. It all starts with summer swimming!
- More swimmers = More fun! Spread the word about Barracudas and invite your child's friends to join the team.
- If you have questions, please reach out to the Barracudas board at [email protected]
