What to Expect When You're a Barracuda

    When do Barracudas practice?

Barracuda practices are typically held every weekday. Age group schedules will be determined once registration is complete, but all practices will fall between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and last around an hour and a half.

    When are meets?

Meets are held twice a week.  Parents/Guardians will go online to "declare" if their swimmers will or will not attend each meet. Swimmers must be registered for a meet in order to compete in that meet.  Our team swims regular meets in the Chattanooga Area Swim League (CASL) and will have a few away meets in Chattanooga. Home meets are held at the Calhoun Recreation Department outdoor pool.

Do we have to be at everything?

Barracudas go on vacation just like everyone else! Participate in practices and meets as much as possible to have the best experience, but it's okay to go on vacation. Just let the coaches know when you will be gone and share fun stories about your trip when you get back!

    Is there a uniform?

Team suits will be available to order through the team website. Swimmers will also be able to order goggles. Team shirts and swim caps are provided as part of the registration fee.

What do you learn as a Barracuda?

Barracudas will learn competitive swim strokes, techniques, and how to participate in a swim meet.  Aside from fantastic swimming skills, Barracudas learn how to contribute to a team. They learn how to set goals and the importance of working on small improvements every day.

We hope this post answers some of your questions and we look forward to swimming with you this summer!
