Update on Swim Season

    Hello Team!

The first week of practice is now complete and we are off to a great start! We hope to get more of the team in the water next week now that school is out. I had a brief parent meeting the first night. Here are the details I went over:

    1. Parents will need to volunteer at swim meets. We have 6 meets. 3 at home and 3 away meets. Every meet we will need to have volunteers. We require many more volunteers at home meets, but we also need them at away meets. Volunteer roles include timers, place judges, recorders, meet set-up, meet take-down, and bullpen. WE WILL BE ASSIGNING THE MEET TO YOU. We will base this off the alphabet by swimmers' last name, and we will only assign you to one meet. Details for this will come in an email next week prior to our Time Trials Meet.

    2. There is a schedule for the season on our website. I am also attaching it to this email.

    3. We need fins. If you have any old fins that you would like to donate to the team, that would be very helpful. Next week we will start using fins at practice. If you would like your swimmer to be able to use fins, please consider purchasing some, writing your swimmer's name on them in sharpie, and bringing them to practice. You can purchase some at the CAC or online at https://www.swimoutlet.com/search?q=fins

    4. No practice over Memorial Day weekend. Next practice is Tuesday, 5/30 in the evening.

    5. We do swim tests on all new swimmers to the team. If it is determined during the swim test that a swimmer is unable to swim and at risk of drowning, we will not be able to take them on the team. If that happens, we will refund you all money that you have paid.

    6. Sign up for Remind. Text @barra23 to 81010.

This swimmers on this team are awesome. We have enjoyed the first four practices and are VERY excited about this season! Any questions/concerns, please email me!

    Sincerely,

    Coach Ogas
